We have helped SumTotal Systems expand from their original 5,000 square feet up to 70,000 square feet, compress to 36,000 square feet and then resize again to their current 50,000 square feet while remaining in their original building. As with most high-tech companies, SumTotal Systems experiences extreme business fluctuations, both up and down, this prevents them from planning more than a year in advance for space needs. When their leases were set to expire, Washington Partners searched for better opportunities in other buildings but our extensive analysis demonstrated that it made more financial sense for SumTotal Systems to remain in their current building.
